Innovation in Print news article - April 2009

Integrity Print gain a foothold in the labels market.

The acquisition of Topflite Labels in February 2009 has enabled Integrity Print to gain a significant foothold in the labels market and is seen by them as a core area for rapid growth in market share. As the UK’s leading trade manufacturer of business print with turnover in excess of £55m p.a. they have s a long history of supplying core business critical material to blue chip clients through their network of print management partners.

Continuous improvement

The Integrity labels division will continue to be based in Farrington Gurney, close to their main Midsomer Norton site, with the sales team being headed up by Andrew Law, Commercial Manager for the Security and Labels divisions. He said of the acquisition “We intend to bring our business

discipline to label manufacture, instilling a culture of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement, whilst still maintaining the flexibility and service expected from a niche market provider. By working with our extensive client base we plan to grow the labels division into a £5m business”

The labels’ offering encompasses both plain and multi colour labels in fan fold, reel or sheet format. Labels can be produced up to 16” wide and re-registration capability allows the

application of unlimited colours. There is also a facility to offer digitally printed labels. A wide range of materials are processed on a regular basis, including direct thermal, tyvek, and polyethelenes as well as standard paper and boards.

APACS approved

The four flexographic presses are backed up by a cold fusion Nipson laser to allow bar-coding and variable data print on a wide range of label substrates. There is a comprehensive finishing department that includes an APACS approved hologram and foil applicator for high value brand protection applications.

As well as developing the core label product, the labels

division will also work closely with their integrated products group to deliver a wide range of exciting and innovative products such as dry peel cards and magnets, integrated secure wristbands, and event tickets. The integrated products division boast impressive web finishing firepower and operates two Tamarack, two Hunkler and two pressure seal lines. The division also has accreditation to manufacture APACS approved Hydalam laser pins and pressure seal cheque

mailers.

Die cut holograms

Recent examples of the increasingly diverse work that Integrity Print are being asked to deliver include a tax disc for Sierra Leone, incorporating die cut holograms, foil and a holographic laminate to allow mounting on windscreens; a steam resistant bar-coded hanger label for Next, and manufacturing and applying a laser compatible membership card for a major National Trust renewals mailing. Integrity Print are keen to collaborate with clients to develop new ways to deliver print. Enclosed in this issue of Innovation in Print is a unique example of an integrated card embedded in a pressure seal document, containing security features. Integrity Print has the

scale and resources to invest and deliver increasingly complex products that allow their customers to stay ahead of the market.
