2nd Line Support Engineer

 

Reports to:                   IT Manager

 

Job Dimensions:          Permanent, full-time, no direct reports

 

Salary:                         £30,000 – £35,000 (dependant on experience)

 

The Role:

Working within a small collaborative IT team and supporting business colleagues and processes in office, manufacturing and logistics departments, the 2nd Line Support Engineer role is to ensure the integrity, availability, resilience, and security of the infrastructure and systems operated by Integrity Print and its satellite locations both on premise and in the cloud.

The role will involve access to personal and sensitive data, so the successful candidate will be DBS checked.

 

Essential skills:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a hands-on technical IT support environment,
  • Good inter-personal skills with a confident, professional, and positive manner.
  • Ability to research and assimilate knowledge of new systems and services.
  • Ability to work and problem solve on own and as part of a team.
  • Hardware, software and services procurement, configuration, implementation, and maintenance
  • Strong background in managing Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory and Office 365.
  • Managing data storage and backup.
  • Network and endpoint security and vulnerability management.
  • Management of web and email security services.
  • Adhering to governance and compliance procedures and standards.

 

Desirable skills and attributes:
  • Self-motivation, good time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain composure and work under pressure.
  • Flexible approach to working hours to maintain system availability.
  • Based at the Midsomer Norton site, the role will occasionally require travelling to support remote sites and home workers; a valid driving licence is necessary.

 

What we’ll give you:

Working within a business where technology is key you will play a major part in re-engineering the infrastructure and ensuring that security measures continue to meet evolving threats. You will gain an understanding of business and manufacturing processes and priorities and will liaise with third party suppliers of hardware, software, and services.

The range of the role will ideally suit a candidate who wishes to expand their knowledge and skills and develop their career towards a 3rd Line Support role.

The package comes with 26 days annual leave (and bank holidays), a lifestyle savings scheme, and sickness scheme. Core hours will be 9:00 – 17.30 with an hour lunch break.
